It was about a year ago that Kian started to take his first steps. I can't even imagine these guys not walking. They run, they hide, they jump, they dance...they wear Mommy out. When I started to stay home with the boys this summer, they couldn't even get up on the couch by themselves yet. Now they find ingenious ways to get into closets, climb up to light switches and with only a hand or a railing to hold on to, they can walk up and down the stairs....if those legs were just a little longer, I have no doubt they could do it on their own.
We are getting ready to sell some of their baby items. I have sold some clothing, but this is the first time we are really looking at selling some of their baby toys and items they have outgrown...some long ago and some only in the last few months...but when they not only DON'T sit in the exersaucer anymore but they also have dismantled it and flipped it over and used it as a fort....yeah, it is time to move on to bigger boy toys.
So, we are really moving headlong towards TWO....two years. They like to dance, they like when Mommy sings (usually) and sometimes they even try to sing along. They love animals, trucks and cuddling under blankets. Neither of them are big talkers, but we are seeing some strides (especially with Kian) in this area,. He is adding words almost daily, but it is still really inconsistent. Finn is just starting to add some words, but he really doesn't end any of his words, so I am concerned about this. He is so curious though and wants to know what everything is (he points and says, "dtha" or "whadtha" ).
We weren't able to keep our speech assessment appointment, but I think we are still planning on having them come in the next couple of weeks. I am starting to think they will not qualify for services, but I just don't know and want to get the ball rolling just in case.
We had some big plans for the weekend with the Stienkes, but all of us have been fighting off crud. No flu yet, but just when we think we are well, some other strange symptom starts up. Right now Finn's poor eyes are gummy and Kian and I have a nagging cough...but nothing else. Strange fall.
We did still get to a pumpkin patch (Collegeville) and park on Saturday since it was so nice.
