Happy New Year!

Christmas was a bit tough for us.  Christmas Eve was great, but Christmas Day brought us some kind of Roto-virus.  It wasn't fun; it wasn't pretty; it was complete...it got us all (my parents, my brother, my sister-in-law, etc...) 

I do have a couple of photos, but I haven't uploaded them yet and will soon; however, in the meantime, I did want to wish everyone a happy new year and share our Christmas card.

I started going though some of my old photos and playing with them.  Some of the images are  a little less than perfect, but they are still worth sharing.  Over the next couple weeks, I thought I would post a few images that either didn't make the cut or got lost in the shuffle of life.

Top 8 of 2008

My top 8 favorite photos of 2008.  This was really hard. I tried to pick from a variety of sources...not just photos of the boys.

#8:  Asian Beauty:  I caught this little Asian beetle on a park bench. I love the colors and texture.

 

#7: The Diva:  I love the colors and I love how Ella's little Diva personality shines through in this photo.  Plus, the Steinke family is one of my favorite families of all time!

 

#6: Gentle Touch: I love the mood of this photo of Kian with his great grandma.  He was so intrigued with her skin.

 #5: The Tattoo: Chloe was such a photogenic little girl. I just adore her photos and I love this one with mama's tattoo.  Chloe was born quite premature and is a little fighter!

 

#4: The Chub Cherbs:  OK, this is photoshopped within an inch of its life, but I will always cherish this photo for so many reasons....not in the least they are simply adorable!

 

#3 No Smiling: The look on their faces just cracks me up and I love the colors and hand holding too! (for some reason I cannot load this photo here with the border. I don't know what is up with this photo and Typepad.)

 

#2:  Love Story:  John and Joy loved each other so much.  We all had to say goodbye to John in October. This photo was taken about two weeks before he passed away.

 

#1:  Babies in a Basket:  When I first posted this, I said, "There is nothing cuter than babies in a basket."  I am sticking to that.  I will always LOVE this photo.

Oh man, we really are here....somewhere under all this seasonal "fun"

 

It is chaos around here, but we really are OK...just a bit busy,  I FINALLY got my Christmas cards done (along with a few others for other people), designed and ordered a couple of gifts and still have one more to go.  I promise to add some birthday (gee, we are so lucky to have their birthday in December as well LOL)...I will get those up in the next day or two.

The boys did well with Santa...Finn wasn't really crying much...I just like that photo.  He got that look a couple times for a second or two is all.

Ich Bin Bald Ein

Tomorrow they are one. (Grandma and Grandpa got these in Germany.)  The shirts say, "I will soon be one." Or "I am almost one."  Something like that. LOL

I took these photos last weekend.   (no individuals of Finn..he was crying in all of them.) They are playing with an early birthday present; Grandpa couldn't wait until this weekend, so he put this together for them to play with over the weekend.

   

On Saturday we are having a "Retro Rocket" themed party.  We are going to have a time capsule put together for the boys to open when they are 18 (and will probably think it is lame, but oh well.)  I also ordered them retro rocket onesies for the day.
