2 Hours Traffic

I woke up my slightly sick, mosquito bite pocked kids and put them in a dirty alley.

Why?  To get these photos.  We took advantage of one of our rare Sundays at home and took these in the back alleys of St Cloud.  I, too, had to jump on the urban bandwagon.  They  were OK for a first try.  I couldn't get both of them to smile at the same time. 

Kian was still asleep for the first few minutes.  Next time will be better.

Why were they pock marked?  Well, Bob and I decided that we would take them (ahem..I guess we took ourselves) to the drive-in theater.  We have done this twice.  The boys sleep and mommy and daddy get to actually see movies.  We saw Dark Knight and Get Smart this time around.  Next time we go we plan on bring a  net for the boys.  If you haven't been to a drive in for years, it really is pretty enjoyable.  Bring spray, bring a net and bring pillows (we took a couple cushions off the couch) and kick back in your mini-van (LOL).  I love how the theater at Litchfield plays the intermission first and shows all kinds of old (see above) concession intermission clips and old commercials...from the forties through the eighties (and one M&M commercial that looks pretty new.)

Back from Camping...

 well, we've been back for a couple of days. 

It was a weekend of firsts. First time camping for the boys and first time swimming in a pool as well.  We found out they love swimming, so that's good.  It was also the first time someone said that the boys were "too beautiful to be boys."  Um, Ok, thanks...I think . LOL

Speaking of that.  I swear I have a taste of what it is like to be a minor celebrity.  No matter where we go, the boys get so much attention.  Every time we go somewhere we are asked if they are twins and if they are fraternal or identical.  (we don't know for sure btw). We are also told (by the person asking) about their family tree and every neighbor and friend who ever had multiples.  I also find it fascinating that people find it perfectly fine to have "twin" discussions while I am in the middle of eating out.

That said, it is fun.  We have talked to a lot of people we may not have if it hadn't been for the boys.  They are cute and I love to talk about them...I just wish I could sometimes finish my pork loin in peace.

Mood Madness

So, maybe I might even get around to discussing this last weekend by the time NEXT weekend comes around, but I did want to share a few photos of Great-Grandma and the boys.  We visited her on the 4th of July weekend as well.  Please ignore my overindulgence in "mood."  I got a little crazy with the photo editing...again.

 

A day late and a dollar short.

Well, it WAS a nice Fourth of July, family reunion, and 36th birthday, but no one would know, since I haven't updated in a while.

Last week was a bit chaotic though.  Of course, there was the normal chaos of raising twins, but an added ingredient was the annual "Johnson A/C on-the-fritz" event that seems to always coincide with the crappiest day of the year...and thus, this year was no different.

So, the boys and I threw in a day at the MOA and met Grandma H.  I melt in the heat (physically and mentally), so a shopping trip sounded like a good way to get out of the house.  Yes, swimming sounds like a lovely idea as well, but try swimming at a public pool with two seven month olds by yourself.

We bought a backyard pool today.  ;p  Oh,and the A/C (my beautiful friend) is blissfully blowing away as I type.
