2 Hours Traffic

I said I would have some new photos....

A few more photos of the nursery...which still isn't done...almost, but the shelves we wanted are out of stock and we still haven't painted their initials that are going on the wall.

BEWARE: Big day-glow white belly AGAIN!

36 weeks 1 day  (measuring 45 weeks gestation)  Waaay scary...and yeah, it feels like it looks.

..and I so hope I do NOT go into labor tomorrow.  My house is a disaster area...I have been nesting, but while nesting I seem to be creating more messes for myself.

SO fingers crossed for at least Thursday!!!!!!

It has been eerily quiet 'round here...

...the calm before the storm.  I know Jasmine can sense it.  Yeah, dogs don't think like humans, but they can sense things...and I think she knows that action in my belly is coming to stay....soon.....very soon.

I saw my Dr today and she wants the cerclage to come out on Wednesday.  Um, we will 'probably' have babies by this weekend!

Craziness!

We were not expecting this today (she actually contemplated taking the stitch out today!)

The babies are still doing well, but their fluid is hovering around borderline, my blood pressure is rising, the boys are around 5.5 lbs, they are both vertex, baby A is engaged at zero stage and I am measuring 45 WEEKS fundal height.  So, yeah, it is about that time.

Once the stitch is out, it is really up to my body what happens.  Some women dilate right away, but most need some time and some women can still go weeks.  I think because of fluid and twin status though, that I will be induced before they let me go a whole week cerclage free.  Who knows what my Dr has up her sleeve though?

I still don't have any cool photos to share...I think that is one of the MANY tasks we will try to take care of tomorrow.

Not music, but we also went to No Country for Old Men.  I must say....the creepiest bad guy ever...REALLY.  Disturbing.

We also went to Gone Baby Gone!  Also, excellent!  Can you tell I have tried to enjoy the last couple of weeks with less restrictions?!?!?!

Happy Birthday Baby

I am up late and it is officially November 16th, 2007.  One year since Beckett was born.  Around this time a year ago, I was at ANW and they were checking for contractions (none were registering but I was feeling them) and getting pain meds (which did nothing.)  I went in the next morning, and that is when we decided we had to induce.

We are planning on a few small activities tomorrow to celebrate his birthday.  We are going to decorate the Christmas tree (I know...early).  We didn't decorate last year and we thought it would be a good way to symbolize coming full circle.

We are also going to let a couple balloons go too.  We purchased two mylar stars and we are going attach notes and let the wind carry them away.

We might even try to eat a little birthday cake!

I took these photos when we took the maternity shots a couple weekends back.  I have been holding on to them for today.  Our friends, Garrett and Nicki, gave Bob this Wild jersey last spring.  It is really such a thoughtful gift and Bob loves it.  I thought it was a nice way to celebrate the day.

I got up to level 45...not an easy test (I am sure some of you will beat me to a pulp), but an easy way to donate food to those in need.

(oh and for the sake of full disclosure, I was at 45 for one fleeting moment.)   I'm telling you...it is HARD!

34 weeks (MY goal)

My major goal was to always make it to 34 weeks (well, here I am!)  Of course the Dr goes by Dec 30th (since my first scan dated me there...even though the other more detailed scans place me on MY due date), so according to their records, I am still 33 weeks.  However, I KNOW what my EDD is (since I was charting..Oh, and perinatology agrees with me, but I guess that is besides the point.) 

Can ya tell this has been a running annoyance for me the ENTIRE pregnancy?

Anyway we are almost done with the nursery, but I thought I would show one more preview today:

Bob's mom, Barb, gave us/the boys this print called "the Awakening" by Bessie Pease Gutmann.  This same print was given to Barb when Bob was born.  His Godmother gave it to him, so Barb, in turn, gave it to us.  I love vintage items...especially when they have a connection like this.

It fits perfectly with the colors in the room too!

Also, another quick photo I wanted to share...my parents and me!  I know they can't wait to be grandparents, and I can't wait either.  It has been a long and patient wait for them!

::::gulp:::  I never planned on sharing REAL belly pictures, but our photo shoot yesterday (a team effort of Bob, my dad and me) turned out so well, I just have to share them.  Yes, there has been some nifty Photoshop work, but I was so pleased with even the natural photos, that I decided to share here!  Anyway...33 weeks today!

What a difference a year makes....

A year ago I was at Abbott Northwestern.  I was admitted on Halloween afternoon.  I had the cerclge about 11 days earlier and we went in for our level II U/S.  Beckett was perfect and of course, we found out he was a boy!  I remember looking over at Bob when they said that, and he had such a smile on his face.  He stood up and came over and grasped my hand. 

I was anxious throughout the entire u/s because I knew they were looking at my cervix at the end.  The U/S tech was quiet and went to get the Dr after looking at it.  I knew that wasn't good.  I was funneled to the stitch on BOTH sides of the stitch and they wanted me to go to ANW for the duration of my pregnancy.  Sixteen days later I delivered Beckett.

One year later...I handed out candy, scolded my barking dogs, and slept uncomfortably with my (likely) full-term measuring belly, kicking 32 week babies and pregnancy acid reflux getting in my way of a good nights rest.  I'll take it.

I haven't taken any new photos in the last few days, so I just thought I would share my thank you cards I made (and took forever for me to send) for my shower.  I am feeling really grateful today.
