Kindred spirits? Kian has a thing for Grandpa. I mean he likes the rest of us too, but Grandpa seems to be pretty special in his eyes. I think he looks a little like my dad did when he was that age. The above photo totally cracks me up. I think Kian (well both boys) bring out the best in my dad too. (Photos taken Memorial Day at the Rapidan Dam)

We also celebrated Bev's 60th birthday Memorial Day weekend. We had a really pleasant day with Bev and all the Johnson's and Shanks. It started out a little rainy but ended beautifully. Barb,my mother in law, made a cake just like they had when they were kids...same lettering, same candles and an angel food cake just like she remembered. It was REALLY good

Kian's moments with his Grandpa are going to be the best memories they'll both have. Now that you've taken a picture of them together, and posted them here in this blog, that bond between them will be remembered forever. I hope that Kian learns to visit this page when he grows up.
